An excerpt of my dream
The day Soyuz got itself attached to the Space station. it was a dream come true
Am I dreaming? Am I still Alive?
I was in a dimension that could best be explained as being in the middle of the ocean amidst darkness there was no sense of location or direction at all.
I have been one of those lucky folks that could travel to a space station. After the Soyuz got itself attached to the space station I could not believe I am living my dreams.
I was here on my Soyuz with Captain Huge. It was the moment of truth…” All I could remember was the blastoff. I woke up to this dream of huge responsibility to be shouldered.
The dream
Ever since childhood, my only dream had been to be on a Space mission and to be a part of the space station… the Dream that had come true might just be fading away in front of my eyes.
The question that was gripping me?
How am I to fix this?
There is no time to lose as the oxygen is running out now it’s up to me alone to fix the problem …I will have to locate it can’t be a failed mission.
The red light indicating the cabin’s air pressure has been going off and on. I need to call the control to check this out. The captain should be warned, he had been awake for 48 hours now, no I can’t disturb him.
Although most of the folks are having their sleep and It would be best if I try to fix it before any chaos.
I need to call up Mac and the entire team. “Hey Mac, we have a situation here” ‘I think the air pressure is dripping, we need to check it out’
“Copy that Jim, let me call up the Centre, you get the suit on I will get the preparations done.”
‘I had to get the spacesuit on and had to do pre-breathe for complete 2 hours 20 mins as per the protocols of the ISS. that has to be followed by a short high-intensity exercise to get myself accustomed to breathing 100%oxygen’.
after the regime, I grabbed the fixing kit and got moving there was no time to loose.
“ Mac I am ready for the walk. Let’s go and check it have you called the station.” ‘Yes, they are on alert’. After having a detailed inspection of the Soyuz I found out the real cause of the dripping Air pressure inside the Cabin. It was a tiny hole on the walls of the Soyuz.
It was not a big hole that could create a problem but the hole that big could easily loosen up and make way for a bigger one.
What could have caused the hole, it can be a possible small Meteorite hit. but wait it was not that it was something else it was from inside.
Whatever the cause may be “Mac we have to fix the hole. it needs to be fixed with a cloth and the glue, and then we have to check it with the infrared light to be absolutely sure of the fix.”
“What are you waiting for Jim let’s do it?”
